Professor Brendan Kelly


Brendan Kelly FRCPsych FRCPI FTCD is Professor of Psychiatry at Trinity College Dublin and Consultant Psychiatrist at Tallaght Hospital. In addition to his medical degree, Brendan holds masters degrees in epidemiology (MSc), healthcare management (MA) and Buddhist studies (MA); and doctorates in medicine (MD), history (PhD), governance (DGov) and law (PhD). He has authored and co-authored over 225 peer-reviewed publications and 450 other publications. His most recent books are ‘Hearing Voices: The History of Psychiatry in Ireland’ (2016), and ‘Mental Health in Ireland: The Complete Guide for Patients, Families, Health Care Professionals and Everyone Who Wants To Be Well’ (2017)

Brendan will be speaking at the Anthony Clare Memorial Session on Saturday.
